Medical Editing
I edit research articles for clients around the world. Some of my clients are small medical device companies. Others are researchers at US universities. Others are researchers in Korea or Taiwan for whom English is a second language.

Medical Writing
As the medical writer for AllergyWatch, I help to synthesize current published evidence in the allergy and immunology fields for practicing allergists. I write article summaries, edit comments written by subject matter experts, and proof the final layout of the publication.
Safety and feasibility of paired vagus nerve stimulation with rehabilitation for improving upper extremity function in people with cervical spinal cord injury: study protocol for a pilot randomized controlled trial. I provided medical writing support for this publication, including ensuring compliance with reporting guidelines.

Challenges in the Management of Hereditary Angioedema in Urban and Rural Settings: Results of a US Survey (doi: 10.1016/j.anai.2023.03.005). I lent medical writing support to a team of medical experts summarizing the findings of a survey of members of the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology. In addition to writing and editing, I set deadlines, collated edits, and resolved conflicting comments.
What is a “Distinctive Nutritional Requirement”? A Position Paper of the Healthcare Nutrition Council.
Medical Foods: Science, Regulation, and Practical Aspects. Summary of a Workshop. I was the lead medical writer of this summary of a workshop hosted by the Healthcare Nutrition Council and the American Society for Nutrition. I attended the workshop, led the writing, and collaborated with coauthors to incorporate revisions and maintain version control through multiple drafts.

Heart Failure. Published by AMDA, The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine. I was the lead medical writer and editor for the update to this clinical practice guideline. I coordinated revisions made by a workgroup of clinical professionals. I wrote updated sections, made substantive edits, and addressed queries to the workgroup chair. I wrote the accompanying multiple-choice continuing medical education questions.
The Younger Adult in the Long-Term Care Setting, LTC Information Series. Published by AMDA, The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine. I was the lead medical writer and editor for this publication by AMDA.
A Dialysis Services Policies and Procedures manual for a provider of integrated renal health care. I was both the project coordinator and the editor for this manual. I helped a new company take their clinical dialysis policies from a randomly formatted Word document to a professionally designed final publication suitable for presentation to future hospital clients.

I wrote the CME activity “Plagiarism and Copyright in Scholarly Publishing: What CRNA Authors Need to Know” for CRNA Today.

I provide detailed editing of grant applications for clients who recognize the value of not letting poor writing, language, or grammatical errors get in the way of a sound proposal.
