Are you a nurse, physician, or academic author preparing scientific manuscripts or grant proposals?
My editing will bring clarity and focus to your writing. Because I excel at seeing the connections in your writing, I can improve the organization and structure of your written content. Because I understand the content I am editing, I can help you communicate your science better. I love the challenge of bringing a unified voice and consistent style to multi-authored publications. I'll also format your manuscript for submission according to the journal's requirements and can help you prepare a revised manuscript and response to reviewers' letter. |

On Data Privacy and AI
I take data privacy seriously. As a professional medical writer and editor and small business owner, I treat all client materials as confidential. I work on a password-protected, dedicated work laptop with antivirus protection and secure VPN capability. I use Microsoft 365 and back up my files on OneDrive. I use AI tools in a limited and carefully controlled way. I use Perplexity Pro, a paid plan with enhanced privacy controls, for project planning and topic research, and I always cross check AI output against source material. I do not paste client documents or identifiable client text directly into AI tools, and I do not use free versions of AI agents for client work. When I get stuck on editing a particularly thorny sentence, I may use AI to suggest alternative phrasings, but I review and decide whether to accept, modify, or reject every suggestion. AI tools are just that: tools that I use thoughtfully and to which I apply my skills, expertise, and experience. I also use quality assurance and productivity software like PerfectIt (running locally within Microsoft Word) and TextExpander to improve the speed and consistency of my editing. These tools are not used to train public AI models.
